OUR CHARITIES
Caversham Lodge's charity donations and support are collected and distributed through two different methods.
Firstly we have the Lodge's Benelovent Fund. This gets its income through various means, the 'Broken Column' which is passed round during all Lodge meetings. Then there are raffles held during the Festive Board run enthusiastically by our Stewards. Finally there are other charity events held such as the 'Summer Luncheon', 'Ladies Festival', etc. The income from this is normally distributed through 'The Master's List'. This is a list of charities set down for support by Master's of the Lodge at their Installation and also contains support and recognition for our widows by means of a cheque at Christmas.
Secondly there is the Caversham Lodge Masonic Charities Association operated in the main by our Brother Charity Steward. Members of the Lodge set up a regular covenant of support to the Association. At the end of the year all donations are expanded by 20% through Gift Aid. Donations from the Association are made to various Masonic and non-Masonic Charities as voted on at an AGM.
